North Indian Dance

Kathak is one of the seven classical dance forms of India. It is characterized by graceful movements, subtle expression and sophisticated use of rhythm.

I studied Kathak at the Kalpana Dance School under Bharathi Vittal, an acknowledged dancer from the Maya Row Kathak Institute. I also attended classes with Maulik Shah and Ishira Pareek, the well-known Kathak dancers in Ahmedebad.

I completed both my junior and senior Kathak exams conducted by the Government of Karnataka with honours and stood first in the final exam.

I have done many solo Kathak performances both in India and abroad. I also took the lead role in a Kathak dance drama depicting the life of Saint Meera Bai in 2005
